The top is carved from one of the most beautiful and even-grained pieces of flamed German Maple we have ever seen. It is book matched along the centre join so the grain and figure is perfectly symmetrical.
When the owner of the instrument originally placed the order he requested a coloured finish, but after the top was carved and he saw the quality of the timber he decided on a clear finish to make the most of it. The high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer brings out a deep three-dimensional look from the grain. The body is Queensland Maple with a lovely orange-pink colour and distinct quilted figure.
The neck is a one-piece maple including the fingerboard and is also finished in high-gloss nitro. The pickups are Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90s giving the instrument a fat single coil sound. All of the maple has given the guitar an extra sweet and warm tone and extra sustain.
