A TIMELESS INSTRUMENT

This 2006 Torres model by Dane Hancock is a stunning tribute to the legendary Antonio de Torres, blending timeless design with exceptional craftsmanship. Built in the traditional Torres style, it offers both visual beauty and an extraordinary sound that captures the essence of the classical guitar’s golden era.

MATERIALS & AESTHETICS

The German Spruce top radiates elegance with its straight grain and silky lustre, while the highly flamed European Maple back and sides bring a striking visual element to the guitar. The combination of these premium materials not only enhances the guitar’s tonal qualities but also makes it a distinctive guitar aesthetically.

The handmade rosette, inspired by Torres’ signature motifs, is complemented by matching purflings on the top, back, and sides. A finely crafted Greek Key pattern adorns the backstrip, adding a touch of sophistication to the instrument’s overall design.

The top is finished in French Polish and the back, sides and neck are finished in a thin Nitrocellulose lacquer.

SOUND

This guitar produces a sound that is as captivating as its appearance. Rich and full-bodied, with impressive volume and clarity, it delivers a balanced tone across the entire register. Whether played softly or with dynamic intensity, the guitar responds beautifully, making it a joy for any classical guitarist.

PLAYABILITY

The setup is optimised to be comfortable and play cleanly at high volume. The frets have been checked and are still in original perfect condition. The neck shape is refined and comfortable to play.

CONDITION

The guitar is in excellent condition, showing only minor playing wear. There is a small, stable hairline crack on the very edge of the top, which does not affect its structural integrity or sound quality. Overall, this instrument has been well cared for and retains its original charm.

CASE

The original Hiscox standard flight case is included to keep the guitar protected.
