The Maverick is a handsome solidbody electric guitar with a stunning and versatile sound.
CONCEPT
Australian Red Cedar is one of the world’s most prized timbers and the body of the Maverick is made from a particularly beautiful piece. We built the guitar with the complex and unique grain pattern of the timber as a focal point and kept theme simple and elegant.
HARDWARE
The hardware is plated in Ruthenium, a rare platinum-group metal. Ruthenium has a handsome patina with shades of silver and black. It complements the rich red colour of the cedar body.
FINISH
A French Polish finish has been applied to the body. This type of finish is rubbed on in thousands of ultra-fine layers until a high-gloss is achieved. The resulting finish is thinner than lacquer and does not impede the resonation of the timber beneath. The French Polish also enhances the grain and colour of the timber and brings out its natural beauty more than any other finish.
TONEWOODS
Australian Cedar not only looks amazing, it is also a particulary resonant tonewood. We selected a maple fingerboard to balance out some of the natural resonance of the body and this combination enhances the sound, giving it a rich, sweet and balanced quality we haven’t heard in any other guitar.
ELECTRONICS
The sound is delivered through two humbucking pickups which were handwound in our workshop. The sound ranges from sweet and harmonic through to screaming distortion, depending on how the controls are set.
HARDWARE
We have used the highest quality hardware and electrical components to ensure a guitar that performs flawlessly. The tuners are from Gotoh Japan, as is the tremolo which is a Wilkinson two-point design with locking post. The tremolo is very stable allowing the guitar to stay in tune with heavy tremolo use.
