SOUND
A natural chorus effect rings through the warm P-90 pickups to create a complex and beautiful range of tones. It’s timbre is both unique and familiar and reminiscent of some of the great 12-string sounds of the 1960s. The controls are minimal with a toggle switch to select between pickups and single volume and tone knobs.

PLAYABILITY
The neck profile, body shape, string spacing and action are based on a 6-string guitar. This makes for a very easy transition between a standard electric guitar and the Wayfarer 12-string.

The feel of the guitar is comfortable and familiar, like a favourite pair of jeans. It is made to be played and every detail has been designed to put the player at ease.

BODY & NECK
The body is made of Empress Wood, a remarkable timber that has only recently been adopted as a tonewood. Two exceptional properties of Empress Wood (sometimes called paulownia) are it’s light weight and it’s sustain. This has allowed us to build something almost unheard of, a very lightweight guitar with lots of sustain.

Empress Wood is plantation grown, fast growing and locally harvested. It is a completely sustainable material and an ideal substitute for the rainforest timbers that most electric guitars are made from.

The body is finished in a natural finish and has been ‘reliced’ or aged during the finishing process. This adds character to the look of the guitar and makes it less susceptible to damage, as any accidental bumps the body might get will not stand out.

The neck is American Rock Maple and is a one-piece design incorporating the fingerboard. The entire instrument is finished in a satin Nitrocellulose lacquer, a traditional finish which is lightweight, durable and doesn’t interfere with the resonance of the timbers underneath.

HARDWARE
All of the hardware is from Gotoh and is made in Japan to the highest quality. The bridge is an robust and elegant design which allows for 6 strings to be top-loaded and 6 strings to be rear-loaded. The design makes restringing a relatively simple operation. The tuners are vintage-style by Gotoh and are smooth and keep tune well.
